Thrust 3
Physical layer convergence of Sensing and Communcations
Lead PI: Yingbo Hua
Physical layer convergence (PLC) is concerned with optimal utilization of physical layer resources for networked command, control and communications. The PIs will develop fundamental theory and methods for network-wise resource efficiency, physical layer security, and radio-radar convergence. In particular, the PIs will find ways for tactical networks to have uninterrupted functionality, stealth, and resilience against adversaries, for much increased secrecy capacity against wireless eavesdropping, and for developing hardware platforms to verify signal processing algorithms for radio-radar convergence. PLC covers a broad spectrum of issues from sensing to learning, from signal processing to information theory, and from algorithms to hardware modules.
